Youth Economic Empowerment program

Through our youth empowerment program, we encourage children and young people to take charge of their lives. Youth become change agents, gain skills that effect their lives and lives of other individuals, organisations and communities

Youth economic empowerment teaches entrepreneurship skills, how to take ownership of their own assets and how to have income security, Focus is directed to poverty alleviation; empowering poor youth, work towards livelihood promotion and protection.

Economic impoverishment is worse among women and girls who face even greater challenges in securing practical, productive and fulfilling employment than their male counterparts. Relief Care Uganda is committed to promoting women and girl’s rights and gender equality, with specific interventions to increase access to labor, market, to microfinance, economic assets and resources necessary to be active in labor market.

This program focuses on socially and economically empowering youth,women and the community at large in market oriented technical, entrepreneurial and managerial skills, confidence building and empowering skills necessary to improve access to productive resources and be able to have sustainable earning potential. Trainings in these aspects will be integrated along with other interventions like markets, appropriate technology, microfinance, entrepreneurship development and back-ups from technical assistants and advisory services. Components of youth economic empowerment program involve personal, employability and entrepreneurship skills; training for self-employment; technical and vocational training.

Goal
Youth, women and girls that dependently sustain their lives with sounding livelihoods.

Objective
To remove any bottle necks that block young women and men from starting and growing their own businesses.
To increase in value, number and variety of young women and men from starting and growing their own business
To develop and increase entrepreneurial culture, technical skills and business and business managerial capacities thus contributing to sustainable kind of life.
